1. 接続詞の役割
２つの独立した文を繋ぎ、それぞれの文の関係性を示すものです。
It was a beautiful flower, so I took a picture of it. (順接)
I took an umbrella with me, but it did not rain yesterday. (逆接)
2. 等位接続詞
文のうちで等しい関係にあるもの同士を繋ぎます。
and, but, or, soなど
3. 従位接続詞
主節の補足説明をする働きを持ちます。名詞節を導くものと副詞節を導くものの二種類があります。
・名詞節を導くもの・・・that, if, whetherなど
I think that Mike will arrive at the airport in two hours.
・副詞節を導くもの・・・when, because, so that, unlessなど
I cannot fix this computer unless you tell me what to do.
